Oops, no new pictures here either!
We've stopped at Palm Beach Yacht Center for two nights while they replace the alternator in the boat's engine.
It's been raining but didn't hamper us much because Tom had a lot of computer work to do today and I read (and scrubbed the oily pan under the engine, ugh!)
Earlier I walked the mile to a grocery store, both for the exercise and for a few groceries.
Comment - we have been sleeping each night with all the hatches open and it's been just right - a constant breeze, just the right temperature to sleep with only a sheet for cover. We both have been sleeping so much better since being on the boat. Maybe we were anxious before we left and hyper. Something has changed and we sleep deep and long - so nice.
We may not have made it clear in earlier blogs: the boat is just about self-sufficient energy-wise. We use lights, the microwave, the coffeepot, and many chargers and do not run out of power. We're here at the dock and have not plugged in because we don't need to!
It turns out the boat is not as fresh and unworn as we imagined her when we bought her, but she is so well equipped for comfortable living aboard that we feel we chose well.
Did you hear why we named her Tumbleweed Too? We were trying to think of names from the moment we bought her. Somewhere, on the drive across the Alligator Alley to see her for the first time, we continued brainstorming and came up with Tumbleweed. Then, thanks to the wonders of iphones, we discovered that there are a few other Tumbleweeds, up along the Atlantic coast. That's when Tom came up with the idea that she could be named Tumbleweed Too. It's easy and memorable and depicts what we hope to do: stop and go on whims, or as tumbleweeds do, with the wind.
The next two days we hope to travel with no hitches up to Vero Beach, where we've had several items/mail sent to us. There, maybe, we can stay for a while and see what hanging out in a beach community is like.
