I, Nancy Varvil, live in Northwest Arkansas. I began traveling more often and farther around 2012, usually with a friend. Most of the travel was by RV or sailboat here in the states. Recently (2017) I went by myself to France for a month. Here, once in a while, I write a new blog post to capture some of experiences. Tumbleweed Too was the name of that sailboat when I began the blog.

This is what happened just after we anchored tonight - a pounding rain, strong wind and lightening! But the anchor held. Here is what we did while the storm passed through:
I did get a few shots of the raindrops hitting the waves . . .
And what it looked like after the storm passed. Many boats are anchored here. We are at an inlet (for us, outlet) to the Atlantic Ocean called Lake Worth Inlet. Tomorrow we hope to take this inlet out to the ocean, sail about 50 miles and arrive at Fort Pierce, not too far south of Vero Beach where we hope to spend a few days and collect some mail and packages.
Back where we were last night, around Boynton Beach, Florida, it rained 10 inches, it lighteninged, and the wind blew our boat away from the dock all night. We kept checking the lines wondering HOW they could hold because we were being it broadside by the wind. But they held. We got through the night by watching an episode of Selfridges (PBS serial) on a laptop and then I took a sleeping pill so I wouldn't worry all night. Tom says it would be hard to get me into a life jacket in such a state, but hey . . . :
Anyway they installed our new alternator and the boat did everything we asked her to today. She goes a little speedier and with a few more rpms, max. So that alternator belt is nice and tight now.
Weather should be nice for a few days so I hope we can report more serene doings for the next few days.
