I, Nancy Varvil, live in Northwest Arkansas. I began traveling more often and farther around 2012, usually with a friend. Most of the travel was by RV or sailboat here in the states. Recently (2017) I went by myself to France for a month. Here, once in a while, I write a new blog post to capture some of experiences. Tumbleweed Too was the name of that sailboat when I began the blog.

We woke up about 4:00 AM hearing the wind howling around and through the boat. The boat was bouncing all over the place and we could tell a storm was coming. We immediately hopped up, closed the hatches and stayed topside to make sure the anchor held. In about 115 minutes, the rains came pouring down and the wind increased to 21 KPH. I know this for sure because we have a Micronet TackTick electronic wind monitor on board. Nancy tried to go back to sleep while I set watch on deck just to be sure we didn't come off the hook. After another 15 minutes, the winds subsided, the rains slowed and everything returned to normal. Looks like we have a good anchor and chain system but we'll still keep an eye on things when the winds get up in the future.

I really do not think water traveling is for me! I would be scared so bad and probably seasick. Are't you glad I will not ask to travel with you? I will wait until you travel by land again to pack my bags, haha.
Looks like you guys are still having a blast. I know there is a lot of work involved and it is not all pleasure, but I'm sure the relaxing times more than make up for the work involved. I love reading your blog and looking at the photos. I'm so glad you are keeping the blog. Kind of cool being able to keep up with your trip and your adventures.
Take care,
Tony Phillips (Nova)
Ah, Squid Lips. We ate there a couple of times. Got to be good with a name like that, right. What a life - pedal the bike to the store, etc., and then sit on the deck drinking Tequila. And, of course, the sun always shines in Florida. I was surprised to see that Tom caught some fish. He's certainly doing better that WE did in Texas last winter. Have fun, guys.

Okay, how do you get out of this blog; all I seem to do is repeat my entry. Aggh.
